One-click Model Updates in Kwanti
20 September 2021

With so much to do every day, it can be hard to find the time necessary to stay connected with clients and keep an advisory business growing.

The uptick in firms providing outsourced asset management services is just one example of how entire industries have grown around the desire of advisors to free up their time. Today, about one in four advisors use a TAMP.

But what if you’re an advisor who enjoys asset management? If it’s a core part of the value you deliver to clients, it may not be something you want to outsource.

Thankfully, you’ve got solutions that don’t require you to reset your entire day’s schedule.

If you manage model portfolios, you can maintain them in Kwanti and often update them in just one click.
Here’s how.

Optimize Models in One Click

There are different ways to update model portfolios in Kwanti, but the option to automatically optimize yours may just be the fastest way to update model portfolios in the wealth management industry.

After loading a model portfolio, click the Optimize button to bring up the model optimization tools.

On this screen, you can interact with your models in multiple ways:

  • Type your desired Risk-free rate or Risk premium percentage.
  • Optimize for a risk-first profile or a return-first emphasis.
  • Drag the risk/return slider to find the perfect place.

Every change you make will impact the allocations, expected return, and level of risk in the portfolio

Best of all, everything happens automatically and intelligently. Once you’ve found the mixture you’re happy with, all you have to do is click save to finish updating your model.

Export your new allocations and holdings to Excel to then import your updates in your trading and rebalancing system to take advantage of your optimized model.

Manually Adjust Model Weighting to Your Preference

If you want to take a more active role in updating and maintaining your model portfolios, you can do that in Kwanti too.

The process is just as simple and effective as using the optimization feature.

Get started by loading the model you want to edit and clicking on any of the weight percentages in the holdings list. Doing so will take you to the Weights Editor.

Again, how you update your model’s asset allocation is entirely up to you. You can choose to lock holdings and only update one, or you can take a more freestyle approach.

Leave holdings unlocked and adjust or change one to see the rest of your model portfolio adjust proportionally to your update. You’ll be able to make all the changes you need by making just one update—and keep the risk and return profile of your model consistent without figuring out new allocation weightings for every single asset.

While you have manual control over weightings on this screen, you’ll also have additional optimization features. You can choose to set all holdings to the same weight with one click, or even round weights for easy and fast updating.

Save and update, then export your model to make changes in your trading and rebalancing system.
With these features, making updates to your model portfolios can be quick, easy, and even enjoyable. You’ll be able to move onto the next task on your list fast—and keep your focus on growing your business while not giving up an active role in managing client assets.
